Now what I didn't know was that if I took my Razer Electra headphones with the in-line microphone and hooked them up to the adaptor, not only do I get game audio, but it also recognizes the mic on it , allowing me to chat with it. It is merely a limitation at the edge of being troublesome. If you want to use it for chat, make sure the headset has a mic. What you'll notice is that as you increase your chat volume to hear your friends, the game volume also goes up and vice versa. The only issue I see is that the xbox could use an equalizer for the adaptor. I wish someone told me this beforehand! Just plug the one wire you used to plug from the headset into your control box straight into the adapter and bam! Granted this could be fixed in a later update on the x1, but for the time being, this issue isn't something that should keep you from purchasing it. I completely understand why somebody would want to buy the brand-name headsets but if you are on a budget or just want something to make your gaming experience more fun this is the product you need to start and they work with any set of headphones that you already own. happens to mine to have updated controller the lot. Once I attached this then any headset will work. You get my drift. You lose a little of your wireless headset (you now have a cord running from the headset to your controller), but it isn't that bad. The negatives are that the sound can drop out if the signal gets obstructed. When I got the Xbox One I picked this up too. You can easily adjust chat audio without taking your hands off your controller, and add game audio by connecting directly to your controller, console, or TV. Microsoft has a solution to that: the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter.
